About Mike Hattery

Mike Hattery, Senior Counsel, Legal & Enforcement

Mr. Hattery joined ReliabilityFirst in 2019, where he primarily resolves violations of the NERC Reliability Standards for the registered entities.

For the past five years, he has worked in the Enforcement Department. In this role, he has served as a case manager for a number of  registered entities.

Mr. Hattery has substantial experience proposing penalties and sanctions to deter noncompliance; working with subject matter experts to accurately assess the risk posed by noncompliances; and drafting, filing, and negotiating regulatory filings concerning the disposition of enforcement actions.

Mr. Hattery collaborates extensively with the Legal & Regulatory Affairs Department, providing in-house legal assistance.

Prior to joining ReliabilityFirst, Mr. Hattery worked for Cleveland Cliffs Inc., Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Mr. Hattery is a 2015 graduate of Clarkson University and a 2018 graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
