About Sally Schehl
Sally Schehl, Senior Security Risk Analyst, Corporate Security
Ms. Schehl joined ReliabilityFirst in March 2024 as a Senior Security Risk Analyst.
In this role she is responsible for developing and maintaining security policies, standards, procedures, and processes to protect critical information and assets and improve the security posture of ReliabilityFirst.
Prior to joining ReliabilityFirst, Ms. Schehl worked for American Electric Power for almost 10 years in various IT, Security, and NERC CIP compliance roles. As the Security Risk, Policies, and Standards lead, she partnered with Technology, Cybersecurity, and vendor teams to develop and implement AEP’s security risk and enterprise policy management lifecycles and governance frameworks.
As the Enterprise Security Awareness Program lead, Ms. Schehl managed AEP’s NERC CIP Training Program and served as a CIP-004 SME during audits and mitigation plans. She led the annual development of mandatory NERC CIP and security awareness training courses and administered the enterprise security website. While in AEP’s Corporate IT Demand Management organization, she managed the project portfolios and three-year capital spend forecasts for AEP’s Shared Services business areas and led the review of new IT project proposals by corporate governance groups.
Ms. Schehl has more than 20 years of experience collaborating with teams at the intersection of security, technology, compliance, and communications. She has worked in many industries for diverse clients, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation; the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security; the U.S. Air Force; Nationwide Insurance; Mettler Toledo; and the Ohio Department of Education. Ms. Schehl has expertise in security governance, risk management, policies and standards, business and requirements analysis, technical writing and editing, project management, change management, and process improvement.
Ms. Schehl graduated with honors from John Carroll University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a double major in Spanish. She holds a Master of Arts in Anthropology from Kent State University.
