Thomas Kmetich, System Administrator, former intern hired full-time

“As an IT Specialist Intern at ReliabilityFirst, I had the opportunity to contribute to the company’s operations. I developed power applications that streamlined the auditing team’s processes and created an efficient license tracking system for the IT department. One of the highlights of the internship was the capstone project, where I collaborated with legal, HR, and data science interns to create a comprehensive procurement plan for the company. This interdisciplinary project allowed me to apply my technical skills and gain valuable insights into other departments’ perspectives. ReliabilityFirst’s commitment to professional development was evident throughout my internship with multiple networking opportunities and learning events. The company provided a supportive and welcoming environment where I could learn and grow. The team was always willing to share their knowledge and guide me through new challenges. The company’s flexibility allowed me to balance my internship with my academic responsibilities and ReliabilityFirst extended my internship until I graduated. Toward the end of the internship, I was able to interview for an open system administrator position and I ultimately ended up being hired full time. ReliabilityFirst’s focus on innovation and its vital role in the electric industry is inspiring and I’m proud to be part of a company that is making a positive impact on people’s lives.”
